At Guru Nanak Sikh Academy our all-through vision for Computing is to build and guide the next generation of problem solvers, critical thinkers and programmers to compete in an ever-changing world of technology.
Through the journey from EYFS to KS5 pupils will progressively acquire the knowledge to solve computational problems and use analytical skills to suggest solutions to technical issues and constraints. They will learn to work independently and in team based environments using technology as a powerful tool to tackle technological challenges in order to design, develop and evaluate their own applications or program solutions. Furthermore, understanding the importance of staying safe online and the strategies they can adapt and implement to ensure online safety due to progressive changes in the online environments they are exposed to.
Pupils will achieve an understanding of a variety of programming languages in-line with the national curriculum, the importance of systematically designing, developing, testing and evaluating program solutions, the ability to dissect the abilities of computer systems and understand how they communicate, operate and collaborate with humans or other devices and to build on key problem solving, teamwork and critical thinking skills in Computing to better prepare learners for industry.
