Our Founder: Sant Baba Amar Singh Ji
January 1993
Guru Nanak Sikh College was founded by Sant Baba Amar Singh Ji and officially opened as an independent school.
The school started with only 7 pupils.
1999
In 1999 the school was awarded voluntary aided status and grant for the new build.
2005
The College steadily gained in reputation as a centre of educational excellence with pupils who were well motivated, disciplined and responsible.
2006

2007
Since then Guru Nanak Sikh School has been one of the most popular choices for parents with a waiting list of more than 300 pupils.
November 2010
The Secondary School’s status as an Academy was confirmed. We now have over 1500 pupils across the academy.
September 2012
Subsequently, following being judged as an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted school in 2012, Guru Nanak Sikh Academy was incorporated into an Academy Trust.
September 2013
To support the parents and high demand for places Nanaksar Primary School opened and forms part of the Guru Nanak Sikh Multi Academy Trust.
Febraury 2021
A brand new building for Nanaksar Primary School opened, including state of the art facilities and a spacious and nurturing learning environment for all pupils.

In July 2024, we had our Section 48 inspection, which resulted in an outstanding report.
'Skilled teaching approaches supported pupils in learning about the Sikh faith in the context of British values, and afforded students time to think and reflect upon making links across key issues like poverty, prejudice and identity.'
