    Music

    At Guru Nanak Sikh Academy our all-through vision for music is to establish a love of learning and appreciation of the arts(Music). ‘Music plays a key role in brain development and helps to develop language,motor skills ,emotional intelligence and collaberation skills’. (The governments national plan for music education) . Students build on the skills learned in Key Stage 2 and explore new schemes of learning including rhythm, keyboard skills and film music. 

    Through the journey from EYFS to KS5 pupils will progressively  acquire  the knowledge of performance, composition and musicianship. This will be achieved by having access to weekly music lessons, Individual and group peripatetic music lessons, and whole school performance opportunities such as Concerts, musicals and sharings. Students learn about different genres such as classical, world and popular music.

    Pupils will achieve the ability to play a musical instrument, compose their owm music and gain an understanding of the musical world around them.
