At Guru Nanak Sikh Academy our all-through vision for Art and Design & Technology is to nurture pupils to develop their creative powers and imagination to become independent learners, who embrace their creativity and understand how creativity is an essential skill in all careers.

Through the journey from EYFS to KS5 pupils will progressively acquire a broad subject knowledge which incorporates mathematics, engineering, computing and science to find solutions to real life problems. Throughout all year groups pupils produce pieces of art and design they are proud of and which promote their passion to learn and the art of self expression. Students learn the skills and subject knowledge to work with a wide variety of materials, such as timbers, textiles, polymers and metals as well as cooking and baking skills and develop an in depth understanding of a healthy and  balanced diet.

Pupils will achieve mastery in critical thinking and emotional intelligence. They are able to generate unique ideas using innovation, resourcefulness and incorporating cultural, moral and social awareness.
